Elise Barberis
Portia/Octavia
A Portland native, Elise is a junior at OSU in Nutrition and Theatre Arts. This past year she appeared onstage at OSU as Jen in The Lifeboat is Sinking, Bessie in Judgment Morning, and as the Female Greek Chorus in How I Learned to Drive. Elise spends her free time running half marathons, cooking delicious vegan food, and practicing calligraphy. Elise’s interest in performing was sparked at a young age when her father, an audio engineer, utilized her talent for voiceover work. She thanks her incredibly supportive friends, family, and the OSU Theatre community for encouraging her to pursue her passion for theatre.
Erin Cunningham
Brutus
Born and raised in Corvallis, Erin will be graduating from Western Oregon University with a BA in Theatre this fall term. This is her sixth Bard in the Quad production, having played Kate (Taming of the Shrew), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Olivia (Twelfth Night), Tom Snout (Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Margaret (Much Ado About Nothing). At WOU, Erin portrayed Elizabeth Proctor in Crucible, Helga Ten Dorp in Deathtrap, and was part of the cast of Half a Block from Home in the 2013 Spring Devised Show.
Craig Richard Currier
Lucius
Craig makes his return this summer for his third Bard in the Quad. He played Gremeo in Taming of the Shrew and Aegeon in Comedy of Errors. Originally from Albany, Oregon, he received a degree in English/Dramatic Art from UC Berkeley. Some of his favorite past roles include Earl of Gloucester (King Lear), Mr. Lockheart (The Seatarer), Otto Frank (Diary of Anne Frank), John Barrymore (I Hate Hamlet), and First Gravedigger (Hamlet). After retiring from a career in Visual Merchandising, Craig builds and plays strange instruments and volunteers at the Albany Public Library. “Always and again, thanks to Barbara.”
Angie De Morgan
Cicero
Born in Germany, Angie moved to the States in 1994 and now resides in Corvallis. She is a Psychology Major, Theatre Minor at Western Oregon University where her son is also a student. This is her first production at OSU. Previous roles include Widow Corney in Oliver the Musical, Mama/Ensemble in Fiddler on the Roof, and Dulce of Vienna in Measure for Measure. When she grows up, her dream is to do art therapy.
Michael Orkney
Julius Caesar
Michael is an Oregon native, hailing from Tigard. A senior in Theatre Arts at OSU, Michael has been active on stage on campus and throughout the community. AT OSU he has played Oedipus in Oedipus the King, Andrei in Three Sisters, Acaste in The Misanthrope, and Jimmy in The King of Spain’s Daughter. He also portrayed Caliban in LBCC’s production of The Tempest and directed in OSU’s 2013 Spring One-Act Festival. A former football player, Michael performs with the same intensity. He thanks Dionysus for all the good times, everyone involved with Bard in the Quad, and the Orkney Isles for inspiring his stage name.
Emily Kathleen Peters
Calpurnia
From Lebanon, Oregon, Emily is a junior in Theatre Arts at OSU. Having worked behind the scenes on OSU’s Oedipus the King and Three Sisters, Emily is making her OSU Theatre stage debut as Calpurnia. She previously provided the voice for Audrey 2 in Little Shop of Horrors and was the Drama Club president at her high school for two years. Emily is a part of a big family; parents Roxane and Bob, and siblings Ben, Olivia, Gwen, Eli and Evan. She thanks Liz Helman, her mother, her high school drama professor Debbie Edwards, and high school voice teacher Kevin Wong. Her hobbies include singing, sketching, and crafting.
Alex Small
Lepidus
From the Rocky Mountain state, Alex is a native of Denver. A junior at OSU, Alex is majoring in Chemical Engineering. He recently made his OSU Theatre debut in The Lifeboat is Sinking in the 2014 Spring One-Act Festival. Musically gifted, he can play the flute, clarinet, saxophone, and piano. He sends a giant thanks to his family.
Elli Smith
Soothsayer
From Philomath, Oregon, this is Elli’s second appearance in the Quad, having played Sugarsop/The Widow in the 2012 production of Taming of the Shrew. She has also appeared in local productions of The Sound of Music, Kiss Me Kate, and Fiddler on the Roof. Elli loves to sing, write poetry, dance, and hike.
Mike Stephens
Cinna
From Coos Bay, Oregon, this fall Mike will be a sophomore in Spanish and Education at OSU. He had his OSU Theatre stage debut as Louis/Simba in the 2014 Spring One-Act Festival. His other favorite roles include Renfield in Dracula and Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz at The Marshfield Theatre Company. Mike is active in the OSU Marching Band and his favorite ninja turtle is Michaelangelo. He would like to thank Kelly for pushing him to be a better actor.
Jonathan Thompson
Casca
Corvallis’ very own, Jonathan returns to the Quad after playing Antipholus of Ephesus in last summer’s Comedy of Errors. He has been a fixture on stage at OSU having played Mickey in After the Fall and appearing in the Spring One-Act Festival for the past four years. Most recently, Jonathan made his professional stage debut at Oregon Contemporary Theatre in Eugene, playing Albert/Kevin in Clybourne Park. He makes the best pieshakes in town.
Kate Thompson
Mark Antonia
Hailing from Salem, Oregon, Kate received her Ph.D. from West Virginia University. After a ten year hiatus from such roles as Marlene in Top Girls, Aunt March in Little Women: The Broadway Musical, Betty in Defying Gravity, and Jan in the world premiere of Forced Out, Kate is excited to return to the stage in her Bard in the Quad debut! Many thanks to her husband Wayne and Sara for their love and support.
Sam Thompson
Trebonius
A senior in Psychology at OSU, Sam has been a part of the OSU community for the past four years. Returning to Bard for a second year, Sam played Solinus in last summer’s Comedy of Errors. Additional roles at OSU include Carl in Feeblemindedness of Women and Willy in The Pirate. Sam directed The Lifeboat is Sinking for the 2014 One-Act Festival. He would like to thank his friends and family for their continued love and support.
Alexander Toner
Decia Brutus
Originally from the Rogue Valley, Alex is happy to call Corvallis home. She graduated from Whitman College in 2010 with a music degree and OSU in 2012 with a Speech Communication Degree. Alex returns to Quad this summer, having previously played Rosalind in As You Like It in 2011. Her past OSU roles include Martha Ryan (The Sugar Wife), Ida Mae (The Coming of Rain), and Rafiki/Pumba/Lawyer (The Merchandise King). Some of Alex’s favorite roles are Sandy (Grease), Cinderella (Cinderella and Into The Woods), Purity (Anything Goes), and Annie Oakley (Annie Get Your Gun). Alex’s one-act play, Cleavage: and Other Ambivalence, was produced as part of Whitman College’s play contest. Outside of acting, she can be found singing, dancing, and volunteering for OSU’s INTO Program. A giant thanks to her parents, brother, husband and in-laws for their love and support.
Joseph Workman
Cassius
Joseph is from Tigard, Oregon, and is currently a senior in Theatre Arts. He has performed in numerous productions at OSU including After the Fall (Quentin) and No Exit (Garcin). He recently directed Stephen Bittrich’s The Sign in the 2014 Spring One-Act Festival. Joseph returns to the Quad after playing Antipholus of Syracuse in Comedy of Errors. He enjoys performing improv comedy and singing karaoke. He would like to thank George for the opportunity, the department’s professors for their care and guidance, and his parents for their patience and enduring support.
Renée Zipp
Metellus
Renée will be a senior at OSU this fall in Digital Communication Arts. She is a Corvallis native, and has previously played Sophie and Linda in Check Please for the 2014 One Acts. She actively writes, acts, and films for her own YouTube channel and would like to give a shout out to her family; Bill, Denise, Beckie, and Ricky Zipp.

George Caldwell
Director/Set Designer/Lighting Designer
George received his Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University and currently lives in Dallas with his amazing wife, Dawn. He is a faculty member for OSU Theatre and teaches courses in Scenic Design, Intro to Theatre, Public Speaking, and other areas. In his career, George has directed approximately 50 plays and designed 300. George is no stranger to Bard in the Quad having directed 2012’s Renaissance-inspired production of Taming of the Shrew and designing Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, and Comedy of Errors. Other recent directing work for OSU Theatre includes A Streetcar Named Desire, The Pirates of Penzance, All My Sons, Glengarry Glen Ross, Almost, Maine, and Oedipus. This fall, George will direct Bertolt Becht’s powerful anti-war play Mother Courage and Her Children on the Main Stage. George is the editor of the journal, Western States Theatre Review and worked his way through college as a carpenter.
Sarah Clausen
Costume Construction/Publicity Assistant/House Manager
Born and raised in Fairfield, California, Sarah will graduate from OSU this fall with a BA in Theatre Arts. Her favorite OSU roles are Holga (After the Fall), Natasha (Three Sisters), and The Woman (2014 Spring One-Act Festival). She made her professional debut this past February as Myrtle in Oregon Contemporary Theatre’s production of The Great Gatsby. She will be moving to NYC early next year to pursue acting professionally. Gulp! She sends love to her beautiful and supportive family and friends for encouraging her throughout this crazy journey.
Arin Dooley
Box Office Manager
Originally from Rancho Cucamonga, California, Arin is an OSU Theatre Alum and currently works as the Theatre Arts Office Specialist. She has appeared in two Bard in the Quad productions, playing Angelo in Comedy of Errors and Benvolia in Romeo and Juliet. Her bright smile welcomes students and teachers alike to the Theatre Arts Office where her knowledge on the inner workings of the department is immeasurable. Arin loves talking to the students about their OSU experience and future plans. “Come talk to me!”
Elizabeth Helman
Costume Designer/Publicity Coordinator
From South Lake Tahoe, California, Elizabeth received her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon and has taught a wide range of courses in Theatre Arts at OSU since 2006. Elizabeth is thrilled to be working on another Bard in the Quad having directed productions of Twelfth Night, Macbeth, and Comedy of Errors. Some of her favorite previous costume design work includes Avenue Q, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Magic Flute, and You Can’t Take It With You. This Busy Beaver will return to her beloved “second home” in September to direct All in the Timing for the St. Louis Actors’ Studio, was recently commissioned as playwright for Unbridled Voices (a new devised work), and is currently collaborating with the OSU Robotics Department and Theatre Arts students on the Bots and Bard Experiment. Liz loves long-distance running, blogging, crafties, cooking, gardening, hedgehogs, her chickens, and cute dresses. “Thanks to my beloved Matty. Woof to Hermione”
Ambrosius Kucharski
Set Construction/Run Crew
Hailing from sunny Los Angeles, Ambrosius now resides in Corvallis. A Food Science and Technology: Fermentation Science Major, he will be graduating OSU in 2016. This summer marks the third year Ambrosius has worked lights and set crew for Bard. He has also worked locally on Rent and The Vibrator Play at The Majestic Theatre. Despite being an unrelated major with a love for hiking, poi, and a good sci-fi book, helping Theatre come to life is a joy in his life.
Thomas Nath
Set Construction/Sound Run Crew
Another Corvallis native, Tom graduates from OSU this fall in English. He has been active both onstage and behind the scenes at OSU, working on The King of Spain’s Daughter, Comedy of Errors, and The Magic Flute. He made his OSU acting debut this spring in The Sign as Robert. He contributed props and costume designs for Humans vs. Zombies. “Thanks to my wife, Anna Baughman, for putting up with my crazy ass.”
Brionna Poppitz

Brionna is originally from Monmouth, Oregon and returns to OSU this fall as a sophomore in English. She has been making her mark behind the scenes at OSU theatre this past season working on A Streetcar Named Desire and the One-Act Festival. She has played the flute for seven years, the Piccolo for three, and enjoys writing.
Bryanna Rainwater
Stage Manager
This is Bryanna’s third year working Bard in the Quad. A senior in Theatre Arts, Bryanna has had quite the busy year at OSU. Her acting credits are Elsie in After the Fall and Eunice in A Streetcar Named Desire. She directed Murder by Midnight for the Spring One-Act Festival and worked behind the scenes for the shows. She recently took a voice class that she loved. Her professional aspirations involve theatre internships that allow her to pursue her passion for theatre with a focus on expanding her directing experience before pursuing higher education. She gives thanks to George, Liz and Sam, with whom she will work very closely with this summer, as well as the wonderful cast and crew. Bryanna is excited to embark on this adventure.
Ken Richardson
Stage Production Coordinator
From the small town of Tobias, Oregon, Ken received a Business Degree in Accounting. His illustrious stage career stopped as suddenly as it started as he premiered as a Pumpkin in a third grade school production. He plays a pivotal role in the construction of the sets at OSU and can usually be found in the shop blasting The Beatles. After recent trips to Alaska and Nepal, Ken is looking forward to working on Julius Caesar.
Kay M. Roth
Costume Run Crew
From Albany, Oregon, Kay is extremely active in both her hometown and OSU Theatre Productions. She will be graduating from OSU in 2015 with a BA in Digital Communication Arts. While she has played Tweedledum at Albany Civic Theatre’s Alice in Wonderland, Kay shines as a director, having done so for eight shows at ACT and is currently the ACT Board President. Additionally her credits include stage managing, prop and set design, lighting for various productions, and Assistant Directing Avenue Q. In December she will direct The Laramie Project at ACT. Come and see it! She enjoys spending time with her grandson Sebastian and would like to thank her wonderful family for supporting her in college and theatre.
Sam Zinsli

From Milwaukie, Oregon, Sam will be a junior in French and Theatre Arts at OSU. Sam is a staple within OSU’s Theatre Arts program, where his hard work and wry sense of humor are always present. His OSU Stage Managing and Assistant Directing credits include Oedipus the King, Three Sisters, Comedy of Errors, After the Fall, A Streetcar Named Desire, and the 2014 Spring One Act Festival. He also designed lights and directed Heart of Hearing. Sam sends a huge thanks to his parents, George, Liz, and Chris Peterman.
